Orumio — Discount Rescue

When a shopper’s discount code is refused at checkout, Discount Rescue offers one alternative in that same checkout, inside the limits you set, and the order can still be completed.
Requires Shopify Plus: Shopify runs the offer inside checkout on Plus only. For stores where a refused discount code is a leak: the shopper leaves.
What it does
Offer a controlled alternative when a discount code is refused at checkout.
A shopper’s discount code is refused
A shopper types the code they came with, and it is refused under the discount field — expired, used up, or not for this cart. A shopper who leaves there takes the order with them.
Under that same field, the shopper is offered a fresh code inside the limits you set. Accepted, it is applied to that checkout, and the order carries it.
Your offer size, minimum cart and cap are checked at every offer. Past five hundred rescues in a day, Rescue switches off and the status page says so.

How it starts.
Install, then place the block once
Installing turns on detection of a refused code inside checkout, with no change to your theme. Then add the offer block in Settings, Checkout, Customize, Apps, and save. The status page says when it has seen the block.
Set your limits and turn Rescue on
Enter a percentage or a fixed amount, a minimum cart subtotal and a cap, then switch Rescue on. Until Rescue is on, the app records what happened at the discount field and offers nothing.
Read what happened
Open Results in the app. Until Shopify grants the app access to your store’s order data, order figures read “pending order access” rather than zero.

Your limits decide every offer
The cap refuses a rescue at the moment of the offer rather than shrinking one. It never stacks: no offer is made when the checkout already carries a discount code or an automatic discount, and one checkout is worth one rescue at most.
One code, one checkout, thirty minutes
Every rescue is a fresh single-use code that expires 30 minutes after it is issued and is offered in that checkout alone. A scheduled job deletes the codes from your admin afterwards, so your discount list does not fill up with them.
You can see what it did
Results counts attempts, offers, accepts and applications over 7, 30 or 90 days, and, for the codes it did not rescue, shows each reason and how often it happened. Orders are counted by the rescue code they carry.
What Discount Rescue deliberately does not do.
- It is not a discount manager. It creates no campaigns, no automatic discounts, and no codes you hand out yourself.
- It is not abandoned-cart recovery. Nothing is emailed, and nothing happens once the shopper has left.
- It does not cover Shop Pay’s own checkout or accelerated wallet flows: neither one runs the checkout extension the offer needs.
